Title: Exotic fruit ~ 'Pulasan' Time: Monday, December 17, 2012
Salam kembali sekali lagi, kali ini saya akan tulis serba sedikit mengenai buah-buahan lagi. :) <<< Nak cuba tulis dalam Bahasa Melayu tapi rasanya macam tak tahu macam mana nak mengarang lar...BM dah berkarat ni. So, BACK TO ENGLISH ^_^
hmm...just noticed that I've just posted a post few hours ago and I'm doing another again...haha...2 posts within 24 hours, not bad right? :P ps. this post is gonna be about fruit again and I wanted to jot down to prove my 'sampatness' (Hokkien word) after discovering that it has edible seed yesterday!
The fruit I'm talking about is 'Pulasan'/ aka 'Kapulasan' in Indonesia, 'ngoh-khonsan' in Thailand & 'bulala' in PhillippinesTadaa! See! Below is the picture I specially edited [I normally just spent my time editing my selca/ group photos, seeing me editing even fruit pics, this has already proven that I'm too free & got nothing better to do :P] for this particular post :)
Already told ya, I seriously have nothing better to do this holidays[not much outings lately ><, jobless..] so I rather blog about my thoughts, latest discovery or whatsoever I felt like narrating that just sitting like a noob doing nothing right? At least I occupy my leisure time with some beneficial interest of mine ;) ps. consoling myself again...

Done filing complains about my boring days...due to that I've made use of the search engine to get some general information from the Wikipedia. hmm...interesting! 'PULASAN' was actually named after the method of opening it, which was the act of twisting the fruit with both hands allowing the translucent flesh to pop out & then bon appetit! I prefer this fruit more than 'rambutan' which is 90% similar[taste, colour..] as there are actually the same species. Personally, I love the 'pulasan' more is because the flesh does not stick on to the seed which satisfy my taste buds with the similar sweet and juicy taste of the 'rambutan' without annoying me with those woody seed's skin. Moreover, I just found out that the seed of it is actually edible and tastes like raw almond :) ps. the last time I've thrown away the crunchy seed cuz no one ever told me that it could be eaten >< so I assumed that its like eating 'rambutan', thanks to my aunt for telling me that or else I'll for sure throw it away in future. However, this particular fruit are very rare to be found outside Southeast Asia and hehe...slightly more expensive than the 'ang mo tan'. I bought it for RM5 per kilo in Ipoh and I think its quite worthy for such a nice and rare fruit cuz I actually don't know how much does a kilo of 'rambutan' costs? :P
For those who haven't try this! Don't forget to grab it at the marketplace ^^ |
